NTLRD missing

I purchased 2 MSI K7N420 and started loading software from scratch on two hard drives. Both computers are brand new. Im loading windows 2000 on both and they both give me the NTLDR not present press any key to reboot. The only way I can load to windows is if the Windows 2000 CD is in the cd-rom.. WHY? Each drive was formated by the setup feature in 2000 when it installs. I have done nothing out of the ordianray besides followed the instruction that 2000 says to do. What are your recommedations???? HELP! PLEASE!!

Well I have looked up everything on the net I could find as to resolving the NTLRD error.
I tryed everthing and nothing worked. So I called IBM and the told me about a fitness
program that I could run on the drive. I downloaded the fix zap.exe from there hard
disk website and it worked. Supposly it erases the first portion of the harddrive where
the boot records are held. Im just trying to help anyone else out there who had the
same or simular problem.

What ever you do dont format your C: drive with windows 2000... Take my advice its
a pain in the ass!!
