NTLDR is missing CD-ROM does not boot any cd,

I have a Sony Vaio laptop GRZ660, was messing with partition magic and created a active partition before the c: drive to install a fresh copy of XP and and format the rest, due to worm virus that could not be removed. Xp pro was installed on new partition and did not allow me to choose which xp to boot, screen passed so quick. Home ed. booted, and I set the new partition I created to be active now. Since reboot i got NTLDR is missing.
I have no floppy drive to load a boot disk, I have a cdrom that is brand new hot swap, and set bios to load optical, floppy (no floppy), network, harddrive.. in that order..
after booting I still get NTLDR screen because my cdrom doesnt spin up before the HD gets detected. Even knoppix bootable doesn't get a chance to load, nothing, xp or generic boot cd.
I dont have restore cd as of yet, but even still I cannot get any other bootable cd to get me out of the NTLDR screen.
Im not sure what options are left,
Any help or comments are appreciated Thanks

Just recieved my recovery cd set, still does not allow boot up of cdrom before HD boot. HD is set to boot last of course. still cant get out of NTLDR is missing..
Its set properly in the bios in the order in should be.
CDrom still works properly, but spins up a few seconds to late b4 screen.
Stumped..
Im ready to remove hd and format on my pc. If I format at leave at fat16 with no os, then try recovery cd would that be the correct step?
