My friend and i decided one day that since i liked my abit vp6 smp board so much, lets build another!
NOT THAT EASY
Alright here are the specs:
-Abit vp6 mobo
-2x intel piii 1GHz cpus
-2x kingston 256 mb ram
-2x kingston 128 mb ram
-2x maxtor 30 gb hard drives
-ati AIW radeon agp card
-el cheapo sound card
The ide cables...now this is a different story. These are cables are regular ata 100 cables, but i rounded them. Thats right, twisted and clipped with these nice looking green plastic things...well thats not the point. It works, it boots yea!!! but when i install win 2k pro it works. but on second boot (yes second first worked but not into the actual os just more settings to be set), it says NTFS.SYS is corrupt.
replaced ram, video card, sound card---same problem
cables maybe?? im replacing them soon, yes i will spend money on round cables i need to oc this baby...
any help would be appreciated, is this a known problem....im more into non-microsoft os's - ie one that works....
