I'm trying to fix a friend's computer, which is running Win XP off an NTFS partition. He has a laptop which doesn't have a floppy drive, so I'm trying to find a bootable CD image online somewhere to boot off of and run some utilities. It needs to be able to read and write to an NTFS partition. Anyone know where I can find this? Even a bootable floppy disk image would be ok, as I could burn it directly onto a CD with nero. Thanks for any help.

Depending on what directories you need to modify, the WinXP CD has the Recovery Console that you can use to modify files. I don't know for sure if any utilities are available for free that actually have write capability. NTFSDOS Professional is available that can read/write, but I don't know of any available boot images that contain it (that would of course be illegal use).

I found one through these forums a while ago, but the utility will only deal with a floppy drive. I am making a bootable CD image as we speak, though, if you want I will upload a copy to my webserver when I'm done.
