NTFS partition showing incorrect space

Hey all, I have a 180GB hard drive with two NTFS paritions - a 60GB system and a ~120GB storage. I'm running Windows 2000 with all current updates. My problem is that on the 120GB drive, the incorrect amount of free space is reported, despite scandisk and defrag, reboots, etc. I use this partition for video editing, and it seems when I delete a large video file, say 10GB, the space isn't recovered. I've selected all files on the drive (including hidden and system) and it's showing 59GB total. Windows reports 100GB, with only 12GB free. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have a protected recycling bin? If you have a certain copy of Norton Antivirus, or another type of software, you may. You'll have to right click on your recycling bin and select, "empty recycling bin" AND, "empty norton protected files."
