I'm setting up my system and was wondering if everyone here is using NTFS with winXP? Does NTFS slow performance or affect gaming in a negative way? What size cluster/partitions should I use on a 120GB HD used for gaming/DVD burning/video editing? Thanks!

IIRC, NTFS is the standard for winXP, so you should just go with that. Fat32 however, is compatible with both linux and windows (if that matters to you).

Use NTFS, fat 32 has max file size of 4MB which will become a problem if you want to burn DVD's - also NTFS has less file fragmenting. I would also split your HD into 2 partitions :) NTFS will not slow down your computer or have a negative effect on gaming

I think you mean max File Size of 4Gb for FAT32. NTFS is supposed to be more rebust against errors and allows security at File System Level (=more secure).

Unless you are dual booting with an OS which cannot cope with NTFS there is no reason to use FAT32 anymore.
