NTFS and FAT32 on same computer compatibility?

Ok, first of all, I know I know......read the FAQ. Maybe I was skimming too fast and I missed it, but I was wondering if I had my main active partition(C🙂 formatted as NTFS and the others(I have like 2 more drives) all FAT32, this is to hold my files, would this be ok? Would I have any conflicts if I copied a file from a FAT32 to NTFS and then back? I'm unclear of how this would affect my files. Does copying a file to NTFS to something to the file itself? Or is this only something that matters in the OS itself? Thanks and please don't flame me if I have missed this information in the FAQ. Just let me know if it is and I'll find it. Thanks.

you are more than welcome to intermix fat32 and ntfs. i am as we speak. the only disadvantage is that if you are running win98 on any of your partitions, it won't be able to read the ntfs drives. but i assume you're running win2k or something, and it has no problem reading ntfs or fat32.

ntfs is the way the file system is organized. transferring from ntfs to fat32 and back again doesn't do any harm to your file

sohcrates, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am reinstalling my Win2K on my main partitino and I was just wondering if this would affect my other files at all. You have put my mind at ease and I really appreciate your response.
