NTFS and FAT32 in WinXP question

I'm about to wipe my system clean and install WinXP final version. I'm running rc2 of WinXP now in fat32. The os is on one hard drive with all the applications. Any files I download, or save are saved onto a separate hard drive.

Now, when I wipe the hard drive that has the os and apps on it to reinstall, I'm not touching the other, since it only has files on it. I understand NTFS is the preferred format, correct? If I install XP on the first hard drive in NTFS and leave my second hard drive alone which is fat32, will I have any problems when working with those files again from the apps which are on the first hard drive in NTFS? Will I be able to open and save them? Or does the second hard drive with the files need to also be NTFS?

No you won't have a problem.

The filesystem is entirely transparent to programs(except programs that are specifically made to interact with the filesystem, such as defragmenters, etc).
