NTFS And FAt32 in a network?

I have a WIn 2000 NTFS connected too a lappy on 98 on alocal network are these too file system suppose to be ok in a network because I can not get these computers to recognize even though I checked all setting I could think of. Originally I was running a win me and 98 both fat 32 w/o a hitch. What gives?

The file system does not matter over a network. Make sure you set up an account on the Win2K computer that has the same name as the login name of the Win98 computer.

Windows NT/2000 will not use the computer name of the Win 9x machine, but it does use either the Windows Logon or Windows Networking Logon name. What I would do is enable the guest account on the Windows 2000 machine and make sure that the guest account is given the correct rights to the share.
