NTFRS.JDB file is very large...help!

I am having strange replication issues, and sorting them out is not easy! One thing that I have noticed is that on my DC the ntfrs.jdb file is huge. On one in particular it is 1.53 GB. Is this normal?

I have other issues, which includes my PDC sending out change notifications which are not needed. According to the NTFRS logs, they are security changes on files in my sysvol that are not changing. I am pulling my hair out over here! :disgust:

One program that loves to reset security descriptors is Norton AntiVirus 7.0 and 7.5.
Other virus programs do this also.

It modifying Security Descriptors causes excessive Replication of FRS Data in Sysvol
creating large NTFRS.JDB files.

Just a thought....
