My Northbridge fan went out - like 90% do on this board and I replaced it last night. When I was replacing it I added a little too much paste(for my liking), it was a little hard to reach and get off so I just put the fan on and away I went.

Well, now I cant OC my mobo to the levels I had it at before. I was running it at 2.4 Ghz and now I am maxing at around 2.0 Ghz! At levels above 2.2 it wont even boot to windows and from 2.0 to 2.2 I cant run Doom3 very well. Could that be the problem - too much paste? I did have to take the entire thing apart to get that damn fan off... could I have messed something else up?

Hmmm.. If I was you, I'd look around to see if I got any thermal compound spllied anywhere on the mobo o/s the NB.

I purposely put a lot of AS5 on my NB. That crappy little HS (if you can call it that) didn't seem very flat/smooth to me. and I didn't want any air pockets there.

Doubt very much That is the reason. Lower your fsb and up your multiplier to see if you can still get 2.4ghz.
