NT4_SP6a High Encryption - Add HDD
I am working on a server that has raid 5, (3 drive setup, yes yes i know, 3 drives,,,not important) the middle drive in the raid has gone bad.
i need to dump the data from the raid to a new hdd, but when i hook it up, winnt doesnt recognize, the raid controller (adaptec 2100su) does however.
I run disk admin and still it doesnt show up, From what i
understand, the high encryption pack of sp6a does not allow more drives to be added to the system after sp6a HE is installed, is this true, if not, what and where is the utility/patch that will resolve this problem.
would you call the raid bad if it only locked up in nt when the sql db is being accessed (the db is stored on the raid) It never locks up unless we try to access sql. one of the drives is alot louder than the other 2, any help would be _GREATLY_ appreciated
