help!! I have 98 installed on a small fat16 partition (2 gig c drive) and I have like three other logical fat16 partitions off of that one.. when I start the comp with the NT setup floppies or the NT cd.. it starts the setup, but then it tells me that I don't have any mass storage drives and that it can't go on, then it makes me restart.. what the hell is this?? I don't have partition magic, I though it would be easier with it, becuase then I could make another primary bootable partition, but how can I do this with fdisk? I also tried to run the CD off of the system bare bones, with no OS installed, and it did the same thing. If anyone knows what this is about, please let me know. Thanks.

Assuming you have an IDE drive(s), make sure the jumper is correct on the drive(s) for your configuration. Single drive or master of a slave drive. This can cause problems with NT boot and install.

sounds like you have to hit the F6 button when NT starts to load up drivers for a basic install. make sure you have your drivers ready for NT when you install your storage device.

I found out what it is.. aparently, NT4 doesn't recognize ATA 100. It's either that, or it's becuase I have a primary dos partition, and I'm supposed to make a extended dos partition. In any case, I'm going straight to win2K now.
