Nt server network with problems accessing a secure site

I stopped by some friends of the family today that run a small business and have 5 pc s. 1 nt server, 1 nt work station, 2 win 98, 1 win 95. They use QuickBooks and need to download an update but are unable to reach https://mirweb.intuit.com for the update to work. All five pc are plugged into a 10 base t hub and a 56k webramp router is also plugged in the hub. There are using static addressing with 192.0.0.1 - 5 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway of 192.0.0.20, which corresponds with the webramp router on the dns tab the have a host but no domain and a dns setting that equalls the webramp ip. I tested there isp with my computer that i brought from home and was able to access the website. Their domain is called domain and they all have to log onto the network. They have normal web access and can even reach https://secure.pacbell.net/dyndsl. For troubleshooting I installed modem into both the 95 machine and nt workstation machine to see if the could access the secure site with the modem instead of going through the webramp and no luck there. Also in the process of messing with setting on the nt workstation machine i switched from log onto a domain to workgroup and cant get it to go back. when I hit change and put in the domain that I want it gives a domain controller error. if I leave the workgroup name the same as the domain the nt machine can see all other machine in network neighborhood.

Question 1. Why cant they connect to https://mirweb.intuit.com but the can access other secure sites. Is it the web ramp or something to do with their network?

Question 2. How do I switch the nt workstation back to logging onto the domain? Do I have to add the machine back in on the nt server machine.

I no this is long winded and a bit confusing but any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your time
