Hello,

I have severals stations with already existing local profiles, but when i put those machines on my domain there profiles are recreated with default settings, email, desktop...
Ex: Local profiles - WINNT\PROFILES\MARJA
PROFILES ON MY DOMAIN - WINNT\PROFILES\MARJA.000

Is there a way to keep all the settings from the local profile to the on the domain? or transfert them? I can copy everything form marja to marja.000 but that doesn't keep Outlook Express Identify.
I don't use romaing profile.

Help !!!!

Thanx in advance

1)Logon to the workstation
2)right-click my computer / properties
3)click on profiles tab
4)highlight the profile you want to copy
5)click on the Copy To button
6)point to the destination where you want the profile to be
7)assign the proper user to have access to this profile
8)repeat the above for each workstations

Example:

copy LocalProfile\MARJA to \\winnt\profiles\MARJA.000
assign permission for MARJA so he/she can have access to the profile when he/she logs in

I'm glad it worked out for you. Were you working this morning?

MCSE don't mean jack... I gave it up a couple of years ago. It's experience that counts... I'm still the main "goto person" in my company even though there are several
MCSE in my team.

Yeah i was working, i'm actually in the technical support team (yet!!!).
One of my friend in that department ask me to help him find a way to transferts current local profiles. Well it worked out great and this will help me get points to go in the technical team soon. I'm currently learning windows 2000 home and i guess i'll get me MCSE one day...even if it doesn't mean jack for some people. Well i consider myself as a newbie but very resourceful. Hope i'll change dept soon i need the extra money !!! :)

Thank you zuffy
