NT 4.0 Laptop Logon Problem - HELP!!!

I picked up a used laptop at a sale. It has NT 4.0 but I can't get past the user id and password screen. Is there a way to read out the valid user id's and passwords using something like ntfsdos?

I don't want to format the hard drive and start over!

Any help would be appreciated.

I found the linux boot disk program that allows the admin password to be changed. Five minutes and I was up and running with no format!!!
