NT 4.0 account continues to get Locked out within 5, 10 minutes.

Its really bizarre, no other pcs are trying to log in using the same user account.

password set to NEVER expire and doesnot help.

checking event logs does not help.

Any suggestions?

This just happened after the 30 day password had expired and was therefore changed.

Are you running any services with your user ID and previous password? This is like the main cause of it. Another thing, I hear it at work too often, you probably still login to a pc some where with the old password but never logout when your password expired.

May be someone is trying to hack your account at work. It happens.

i think as far as "services" i was told possibly that there was a remnant? of some netware service on that user's desktop. However he had been using this pc for many months, and through many monthly password changes.

jaywallen, i remember yest. the mgmt people said that suspiciously, there was nothing suspicious within the event log. meanwhile, today they gave the user (wasnt me with the problem) a totally new account. The former one still has the locking problem.
