Oops, did they do that? It was accidental, for sure.

anyways, here's the text of the bill:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/8/text

I fail to see how this is what the NRA states in their article as an extreme firearm transfer ban.

2/28 edit: bill passes house
https://www.npr.org/2019/02/27/698512397/house-passes-most-significant-gun-bill-in-2-decades

Most interesting part is at the bottom.

Public opinion polls show a large majority of American support background checks for gun buyers.

A Quinnipiac poll last month found 92 percent of respondents supported background checks for all buyers.

The poll found strong support even when factoring in the political affiliation of poll respondents: 95 percent of Democrats, 94 percent of independents and 89 percent of Republicans were in favor of background checks.

The modern NRA would support guns being sold in vending machines, like candy bars.

Putin loves 'em, rightfully sees 'em as useful idiots.

The NRA is, without question, the largest terrorist organization that operates within the USA. None of this is surprising.

And they pretty much just operate with the same model of ISIS: just flame the anger, name the targets, and allow all of your soldiers to go out and do your bidding, just claim "patriotism" as your reasoning and you're a soldier/martyr for the cause.

You mean it's not ok to simulate or suggest violence against politicians? Color me shook.

thanks for your obligatory derp post. here you have an example of a major influential lobbying organization making violently suggestive headlines, and in light of last weeks finding of the coast guard who was targeting D's, you'd prefer to post nonsense instead of anything helpful.

so, please explain how this bill is what the NRA phrased it as.

There's dog whistles, and then there's just blatantly shouting what you think through a bullhorn. I'd like to see some sort of lawsuit brought against these fuckers. I don't even care if it wins. I just want to bleed every penny and resource from that terrorist cell operating under the thin veil of an advocacy group.

Have you re-upped your NRA membership yet?

Better get on that brandonbullshit. NRA probably won't be getting as much money from Russians this year, and their legal expenses look to be going up.

And those vending machines will be in elementary schools

So much for the canard the left is the party of physical violence. Righties ask for it from their people and actively practice it.

They did the same thing at that conservative convention last year basically naming off a "hit list" of media and politicians to lob some raw red meat to their starving and deplorable base. That call to arms that Dana Loesch barked out gave Joseph Goebbels corpse an erection.

Oh, they thought it through. Why would you think that they didn't know what they were doing?

I’m sure they thought they had a catchy gun themed title but if you’re thinking the writer seriously wrote that with the intention inspiring someone to try and assisinate anyone like the left wing dude did at the baseball game then you’re just as much of a conspiracy nut (nothing wrong with that mind you, I partake myself) as the right wing ones that y’all chastise.

Thanks for you opinion. It's obviously inaccurate considering how the NRA presents itself to the public.

For fucks sake man. One of the people they mocked WAS SHOT IN THE FUCKING HEAD. She's an advocate for gun control. I'd ask you to try and rationalize how that *WASN'T* intentional and meant to incite fear and bully the subject but you're incapable of any intellectual honesty.

How do you know what his intentions were? We do know who wrote it.

I bet you didn't know the NRA was a front for Russian money laundering either.

Who's the naive one??

So weird how the NRA fights tooth & nail over this.
Literally EVERYONE supports more & better background checks. 90 plus percent of gun owners and non gun owners and something like 85 percent of NRA members.
So weird that instead of giving suggestions the NRA shits on it.
