Some times the NRA's endorsement conflicts with those of local and state progun groups because the NRA isn't as astute or informed about some local contests as they are others.
I know this has happened on at least two ocassions in recent Michigan elections, where the NRA endorsed a candidate who nobody in our state would consider 'friendly' to gun rights, but the NRA endorsed them anyway based solely on the questionaire responses, which may be fair representations of their positions or it may not be fair representations. One highly rated NRA endorsed incumbent burned us by doing everything he could to impede and block a concealed carry proposal that was being promoted by Michigan progun groups, setting the ultimate passage of the bill back by about 12 months.
So also consult with your state level organizations who are probably more in tune with the local candidates than the NRA, which concentrates more heavily on national politics.
