You remind me of a bottom feeder. There's just nothing on the bottom you can't turn into a treat.
I wonder if there is a union for that?

As many of us know the socialist dimocratic party is all about diversity of skin color and ethnicity but not of thought... once again this is proof.
Not too long ago I remember seeing a thread talking about NPR being non-partisan, perhaps this and George Soros running the show might change their minds.
I am channeling my inner liberal. Don't make me cry.
:awe:
Perhaps at the very least to keep NPR NON-PARTISAN, they had to let go an employee that also worked at a TOTALLY PARTISAN "News" Network, and Williams crossing the line that his employers drew in the sand was the trigger they needed to do it? Just throwing it out there...

Doesn't matter. Progressives literally cannot tolerate any independent thinking in women and minorities* because without heavy votes from those groups the progressive agenda is dead. Having feelings or opinions not on the approved list is sufficient for a woman or minority to be targeted for destruction, and while Williams is too well known to be professionally destroyed by the likes of NPR and the mainstream media, they can restrict him to media like FoxNews, where they can paint him as a mouth-breathing conservative. That way at least the spread of his contagion (thinking for himself) can be limited.
* Except Asians. Progressives seem to find Asians difficult to control and tend to treat them like whites.
Must be good to be so non-partisan that the non partisan George Soros decided he will use them as his blow horn.
I think the line in the sand that Williams crossed was independent thought, that's off limits in the socialist dimocratic party and it won't be tolerated.
Yessss the mysogonists and the bigots party together!
This thread died when you labeled Juan Williams a liberal.
Mr Williams, when I walk down the street and I see a black man dressed up in hip hop/gangsta clothing, I fear for my wallet and life.
But hey, I'm just being honest, not racist.
Good day sir.
The fact is NPR has a really low threshold for offensiveness. They go far far out of their way to avoid insulting any group. I've even noticed that their obsession with fairness and not wanting to create any perception of bias leads them to avoid hardball questions in interviews with politicians (at least on the big shows like All Things Considered).
Never watched or listened to NPR and after this I have no intention of doing so. Of course I don't watch Faux Noise, MSNBC or CNN is I can help it. It's all partisan bullshit spewed by red assed douchebags catering to their douchebag audience whether Right or Left Leaning.
No you aren't a racist, you just support Peace on Earth and Purity of Essence.
I haven't time for Fox, and unfortunately I now have to assume a similar journalistic bias from NPR. I knew they were left leaning to a degree, but not so they would fire someone for expressing what is a common reaction which is not commonly acted on. I certainly hope they don't have or express any emotion whatsoever on any topic. Big Sister might not like that. Then again perhaps expressing the "correct" one will have them on the rapid track for promotion.
Oh, I sent my local NPR station an email stating why I'm sending my money elsewhere. There are people who can use it more than Viv.
If there's retributive justice then perhaps she or her grandchildren will get AIDS from a transfusion.
Oh, that last bit wasn't mine. You can google it. NPR- Fair and balanced.
So you don't think Faux, MSNBC and CNN is partisan BS?No, it's not. But that's a nice simple view. Wrong, but simple.

I am quite disappointed to see NPR fire Juan Williams. I think Juan Williams has a level head and a good number of sensible opinions, more than can be said about most other commentators in the political arena.
What he said was mildly offensive at best, and stupid at worst. I doubt it's the muslims in traditional African or middle-eastern garb on planes we really have to worry about.
You should be proud of NPR for its standards. Williams had a history of violating their rules, such as by appearing on 'punditry' shows with more opinion than fact. There was also the issue that after Bush refused any interview by NPR - while granting them to the other networks - except one, where they named the interview, they'd only accept Juan Williams, NPR refused because they were not willing to allow the White House to select the interviewer - and the Fox promptly had Williams do the interview for them.
The result was considered a journalistic farce, where Williams was more 'worshipping' the President than asking any harder questions. This did not help his journalistic credibility.
Check Williams on www.mediamatters.com, this goes back years.
You clearly haven't checked into the reasons for NPR doing this, by citing just the one comment that 'broke the camel's back'.

What if Juan Williams said "The Jews control the media."?I haven't time for Fox, and unfortunately I now have to assume a similar journalistic bias from NPR.
