besides internet stocks YHOO AMZN EBAY hovering near all-time highs, some company plans to give away 200,000 IBM computers that shows ads 60 seconds every 20 minutes (5%)

how are they gonna stop someone from reformmatting and doing their own shizzy? linux box. or for that matter breaking it open and scavenging the parts.
200k * $300 = $60 million minimum

searched for "free". found nothing similiar, so this is a prepost, not a repost, depost, or compost

I assume if you're not "logged" in for the 30 hour monthly minimum then they either charge your credit card or take the machine back.

The bubble isn't back, just another future failure who secured some poor investors money. This model for advert delivery has been tried before, it failed before, and it will fail again, regardless of how the economy is doing.

it asked for country in the signup, so i put usa and it went through
in the very least, i'm looking at a free comp to run dc progs, photoshop & a comp for the family to use, so they won't destroy mine.🙂

sometime in january i should hear from them. hopefully.

so if this company folds in the middle of the agreement, & i just so happen to loose all contact with them, would the collection agency be too lazy to even pick up my machine? because i'm not shipping anything back there way. sure it'll be dated, but another machine is still better than nothing.

I'd swap old parts in there and keep the machine connected to the net and let the ads run, and I'd use the new pc parts for whatever
edit: on second thought I just saw the specs, that pc will be worth less than $200 by the time I get it.
