Now what hard drive????

With most of the IDE the drive companies going from 3 year to 1 year replacement, what the h@ll do we buy now?? I have replaced drives from every manufacture in the last few years, most were under 3 years old. The WD Special Edition still has 3 years, but they are new and expensive. There are 40-60 gig WD and Maxtor drives for sale everwhere--- cheap. I don't need 120 GB, just dependable. If the drive fails it's not just the cost of the drive, but the hours re-installing the software. Thoughts?? R

After all the IBM horror stores over the last year, they didn't make my short list. I doubt if the manufactures have change there processes, but it scares me that they only want to back the product for 1 year. It takes me that long to reconfigure my machine after a meltdown. Thanks for the response--I thought everyone had died. R
