All "cutting spending" means in reality is cutting government services for the majority of Americans, namely the poor and middle class. The rich don't care because they can afford to buy private security and private education for their kids. "Cutting spending" sounds good to intellectual lightweights though so they're duped into voting against their own best interests.

It depends on what you mean by "reality". There is so much waste in our govt it isnt even measurable. It's beyond ridiculous... But, point taken. In reality it isnt going to change no matter what.

These are the people who tolerated the destruction of their own middle class livelihood in the name of trickle down economics.
These are the people who tolerate their state government keeping Medicaid health coverage away from them, while their life expectancies are starting to decline.
So if they will tolerate their own economic and physical demise, I don't think there is a limit to what they will tolerate in terms of party nominee.

For in their frantic disbelief and panicked state of collective mindset manifested by Obama's presidential victories, the Repub leadership went on a mindless reflexive rampage to get back control of the White House.

In that hapless effort of firing off volleys of misguided missiles, the GOP had created a far right wing base that is a product of the insanely exaggerated propaganda campaign of hate and fear that they launched against Obama and now that base of zealots are in complete control of their primary selection process that can only produce presidential candidates that cannot possibly win.

Should be really interesting to see how the GOP leadership handles the damage control and repairs that are sorely needed to produce a viable presidential candidate in future elections.

Or have they now gone too far to save themselves from themselves?

That is really the tell here. America has to be declining if this is the best there is to choose from. The voters need to revolt and vote against every incumbent if they want to seriously send a message. Blind loyalty to a party or candidate is how they keep us in line. Leading is not rocket science. Don't need to be a professional Politician to do it.

If you think about it, the GOP's response to Obama being elected is a perfect microcosm of the racial issues we have the police and black people. They saw a black man and immediately shat their pants and fired everything they had at him to try and stop the big scary black guy. Their reaction to Obama makes perfect sense when viewed in that light.

Yup... Also funny as hell is last Fridays tape release with the horrible things Trump said coming to light and virtually ruining his chance to repair the damage he had already done with female voters (voters that he absolutely needs to win over to take the oval office)... Clearly a major MAJOR blow to his campaign and the defense he and his supporters are clinging to is the "But, Bill Clinton" defense...
