Now we have banners with sound

I just noticed there's a banner for some Outlook Video Email software circulating around here on AT. The banner actually talks and invites to click the link. Personally I think the sound in banners is a mistake because it is a general annoyance and because it interferes with the mp3s.

That is very intrusive. I would imagine people would stop using a site that went that far.

While I haven't come across the ads here at Anandtech, I have heard them before. I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but sometimes they startle the hell out of me. Unexpected sound coming from computer = bad thing.
