Whenever I write posts, or Emails in Windows XP. I have to type REAL slowly or the words don't show up. Then sometimes they show up well after I?ve typed them.

But the REALLY strange thing is. Sometimes words show up that I KNOW I never typed.

For example, words like Thailand, compound, and other words I would seldom use in a Email or post have showed up on my screen!

What the hell could cause this kind of behavior?

BTW: When I use my ME or 2000 Pro OS's everything seems to work fine, so this seems to be a problem in XP only.

It's like someone else is typing on my screen besides me!!

BTW: I have Office XP on all three OS's, and use Word as my Email editor.

Check your input locale... it might be set for czech or something.

That or the spellcheck has gone haywire.

Just have it running while you use the computer and see if the same things happen or if it catches something.

You could just try re-installing XP.

<< maybe a program called netbus.. download a virus scanner >>

Yeah, it could be netbus. It's not really a bad virus. Had it before and got rid of it pretty quick. My virus checker couldn't find it, though, so you can get a scan of your system at Hackfix. Mostly they will just open/close your CD tray, but they can do other things too to your system too. I believe netbus started off as a remote desktop type utility.

Well I ran the visus checker while I was at work, and it came back clean.

I guess I'll switch back to XP now.

I hear there is a new patch out.

Maybe THAT will fix the problem.

I'm typing in ME right now, and everything works fine.

Weird.

I'll check the site mentioned above and see if THAT gives any differant results than Norton.

Well I never DID find out what the problem was, but I reformatted and re installed and everything seems to be working right now.

Wasn't a virus and Black ice didn't show any problems with intruders.

My friend had a problem just like that after I installed XP on his computer. I'm not sure, but I think the problem had to do with his microphone setup or something. I'll ask him tonight and let you know.

Ahh you may be right (or close at least on that one).

I did have office XP installed, and when ever I started word, it would give me some crap about voice rec.

I haven't reinstalled Office yet, I'll let you know if that changes anything!
