Yeah, would be good to know how big it is but I don't think that's a penny. More pics here. If that's 80mm, they might even be able to fit a relatively quiet fan and still have it work seriously well. On the other hand, other recent reviews seem to think that more metal and not more airflow is what's getting the best cooling effect. (yes, a 7000RPM fan increases cooling by a few % over a 3000RPM one, but that's about it)

That's not a penny, after looking at the second picture you can see that it's the radiator cylinder poking through.

It's a heatpipe, maybe. That is a pretty standard size for one. I went up upstairs of the tool crib at work and they had hundreds of them. They are manufactured for various effective temp ranges. So the couple I grabbed I'm not sure what temp they work best at. Might try one day. If you hold one end under hot water the other end heats up almost instantly.
