I placed an order last night at Crutchfield.....had some Amazon gift certificates that were going to expire so had to use them in the next week. Expected shipping date was June 1, next Tuesday, which I expected as this is Memorial Day weekend and all.

Get an email today that Crutchfield has shipped the item today! Already in the UPS system and moving. It'll be here Tuesday morning. Now that's service!!!

Crutchfield is great. Usually a little more money, but worth it. Last time I ordered from them it was around 3pm and it still shipped same day.

Was nothing.......just a subwoofer box. Got a helluva deal on two new 12" Alpine subs last weekend and needed a box for it. (Our local Circuit City was closing them out for the "new" model and sold me the pair for $80 + tax out-the-door.) Had enough Amazon money saved to only have to pay the $5.95 shipping cost from Crutchfield.

UPS picks up on sundays?

They do from major shippers and I'm sure Crutchfield ships enough product to warrant them picking up on a daily basis.

My wife's employer has multiple pickups from UPS, FedEx, etc. every day of the week. But as her plant is a major supplier of specialty bearings and used by Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, Ingersol Rand, among others, daily pickups....even on Sundays....is not unheard of. Gotta keep that supply chain full as manufacturers keep lower and lower stock levels of inventory on hand these days.

A business major could tell you what the Japanese concept of this is......I forget the name, but the manufacturer, say Honda, keeps only enough inventory on hand for a few days and completely depends on daily deliveries of inventory of parts for production. UPS gladly picks up from them on Sundays, holidays, etc.
