Check this bad boy out :D

Too bad it's a little more than what I want to spend on a bike :frown:

Marv Jorgenson has a modded Boss Hoss that's done a 1/4 mile in 6.407 secs @ 210.8 mph! I can't imagine riding a bike with almost 900 HP

Yeah I'm more of a sportbike type of guy (Suzuki owns) but I have to say I wouldn't mind owning one of these bikes...would make a great weekend ride.

MikePanic,

How reliable are Ducatis? I don't know anyone who has one but they are nice looking bikes.

Not for me. I used to think that my next bike would be a Valkrie, but lately the H-D Sportster has been looking really, really good. Especially the Sportster 1200 Custom, but the 883 Custom will be better since I don't think the extra displacement of the 1200 is worth the extra cost.

There were stories about them being bad, but they've had a good reputation of late anyways.

as reliable as any bike or car thats well maintained... a 10 year old bike thats sat for the last 9 years will have problems same as cars that sit for tha tlong - tires "cup" from how they sit, rubber rots out, etc

parts for them are generally about 20% more then your standard jap bike... performance parts are the same... what a $475 titanium slip on for a crotch rocket would run you $600 for a duc.

they do require valve adjusting every few thousand miles, but any qualified tech can do it.

overall... if your into twins, they are great bikes... a LOT of people recomend the monsters (the smaller ones) for starter bikes, and the 748/749/916/996/998/999 style bikes are VERY aggressive driving positions - high rear sets, low handlebars, big tank in your gutt...
