Now that you've gone from GeForce2 GTS/GTS Pro or GF2 Ultra to GeForce3, how's the performance?

Just wondering, because I'm at a strange point here. I'm disappointed with my GeForce2 MX purchase. I'm either going for a GeForce2 GTS Pro or a GeForce3. Problem is, the GeForce3 is way expensive, AND hard to find. I know the GTS Pro 64MB is a good card at a good deal ($140 on newegg).

Recommendations? Is the GeForce3 really worth it?

Thanks.

Went from GeForce2 GTS to GeForce3

It ROCKS! You MUST get this card!

Ok, that's what I'm suppose to type to justify the money I spent.

I was playing (Intel 815 w/P3 1GHz) games @ 1024x768x32 with all options MAXED. Q3, UT, Alice, NOLF, Diablo2 (haha), etc. What differences did I see?

Well, the "digital vibrance" feature is a quick/easy way to brighten the screen colors up, and I do enjoy it.

And, when I run the benchmarks, it SAYS the games are moving faster. The only REAL difference I've seen is that there is NEVER EVER ANY slight NOTICEABLE slowdown for ANY reason.

The smart thing to do would have been to keep my card and wait. Is your current card/system too slow for you? If not, I'd wait.

Gritt, or anyone with a GF3, any way you can see how 'Emperor: The Battle For Dune' handles 10x7*32, all options maxed with a GF3? It makes my GF2 GTS crawwwwl.

I've seen a big difference between my G2 GTS and the G3 I bought -- I can now run Q3 at 1600x1200 at max settings and it doesn't slow down the card at all. Before I could max out my card at 1024x768. One of the best purchases I've made this year... and after selling my GTS the price wasn't all that bad.

I have a GeForce2 MX. I run Giants at I think 800x600x32 and I get about 20fps or so. And this is on a 900MHz Thunderbird!

I've heard from many sources that the MX is highly crippled. So I can either front about $140 (or $90 for Inno3D's brand) for a GeForce2 GTS Pro to keep me busy until GeForce3 prices drop. Or I can just save and go for the gold.

See my little mini review of the Elsa 920 GF3 card in a thread further down... I went from a GF2 and it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade!

And about how much are you guys paying for your Gf3?
