Ah. So now your tastes are reversed. When all the X850XT had to offer over the 6800Us superior feature set was a little more speed, that was the key factor.

Now when the R520 may only have some as yet unknown feature advantage but be slightly slower, you opt for the unknown miracle feature that will save the day?

Interesting.

Your topic title is misleading, and bias. There is no way to know if these numbers are real.

I can make a graph and make some disappointing numbers too.

Would you have said the same thing if HA put up numbers that destroyed the GTX and I made a poll called, "Now that we've seen R520 destroy G70, who will buy what?". My gut feeling says a resounding nein!

The real question is would you have put up the same thing if numbers were reversed. ;)
But I can't vote because you missed option 7.

IQ and features versus speed.

Your question may be very real ronnn. But that doesn't make his question any less real either. You both have very good points.

I'm not a big fan of people answering questions with questions. It's nothing more than a circle jerk.

I think you should put your fanboi-ism aside, STFU, and wait for the official release of this card.

I'm not a fanboy, I don't favor either of these companies. I'll reiterate here what I said on R3D: The day nVidia or ATi start giving me free cards, then I'll become a fanboy. Until then, they're just companies after my money and I'll scrutinize both. Right now ATi is floundering and they deserve no slack.

I'm sure the benches that have come out are close to enough to accurate.

Since i have AGP, i will be waiting a while before i get any new cards, & considering how ATi always ends up being cheaper (& a better deal) than nVidia in Canada, i might end up with one of their cards yet.

Time will tell, but the X1800XT has to be significantly cheaper (~$50) than the 7800GTX for me to want to buy it.

As I said before. The only people that absolutely refute these benches and claim they have to be false, are the people who are unhappy with them. I will say that when AT, Firing Squad, H, and beyond3d post the benches, I will be much happier and will take them more seriously than HA of course. But just as you rage against these benches and claim they are false, there is just as much chance, maybe more, that they are spot on.
That is the most neutral position that can be taken as of this moment. Anyone stating differently is blatantly biased. Those dismissing the possibility that these benches could be dead on, are just displaying wishful thinking and stroking their voodoo totem's chanting "Please dont let this be true...." over and over again. Why can't this be true? Similary, why can't this be a fake? My money is already spent on a 7800GTX and I could not be happier with it. I got it for cash Plus parts trade. I think I only paid 300 for it plus parts.

So, no matter what the "final" benches are, (I quote the word final because it will never be final if ATI comes up short to ATI fanbois. "Driver Revisions, Early Drivers, etc. etc.) at least I already know I won't have buyers remorse and glad I didn't wait.

i believe they may be false . . . Sanders not only has motive but a "way out" [he can always say the 'unnamed partner' faked it] . . . ;)

because of that doubt, they are useless . . .

anyway, we'll know soon enough . . . and i personally don't care as i am looking for the highest performing best bang-for-buck AGP solution. ;)

Where did I say speed was the factor? Oh, guess I didn't. As I remember my major decision maker between the the 6800line and x800 line was price. The refurb was just much cheaper. So how about yourself, what if the R520 has an extra feature set with say better implimentation of hdr? Will you deride the extra feature as unusable in the great majority of games or will you switch your alleigance? We have a pot and kettle situation here, I think.

Well you have me there as I am sure my experience with circle jerks is more limited. ;)

As these benchies were released by an ATi board maker - one must assume that Ati wanted the bad news out of the way - so as to open up conversation on what they see as the good news. Much like the early release of the gtx 3dmark05 benchies. Even had fanboys at that time claiming much higher numbers. Still got the news out of the way and on launch day people only talked about the good stuff.
