Now that we have captured Saddam and killed his sons what more does the USA really owe Iraq?

How about restoring the country's infrastructure to its creaky, prewar glory? We'll have to skip over the dead Americans and Iraqis. Can't bring them back.

I say we just give them some cash and let them rebuild it themselves.. and tell them if they turn into Islamofacists and start to go radical then we will start bombing again.

If the US doesn't allow direct elections, but tries to force a secular regime on Iraqi's, the shiites will start a civil war, millions will die, and at best, an Islamic theocracy like Iran will emerge. If the US does allow direct elections, the shiites will control the government (because like 80% of Iraqi's are Shiite) and at best, there will be an Islamic theocracy like Iran in power.

IMO of course.

How many more Iraqi civilians and American Soldiers NEED to die for these Islamofacists to get a stable government? Did PNAC or George Bush think about an exit strategy or elections before the invasion?

In your opinion, why are so many from that region so eager to turn to terrorism?

So the same situation can come up again and our leader will feel the need to invade again and more Americans and Iraqis will be dead?

Excellent call.

I suspect that they always were terrorists at heart, yet were either content with Saddamn Hussein or so in terror of him that they never committed any acts against him. Some of both I suspect.

I've actually pondered that very same question.

Boredome. Give the kids playstations and television. Teach them not to respect religion, thier parents , thier god or country. Give them mindless television shows that preach tolerance and political correctness . Give them commercials that tell them what they need to be cool. Mebbe things will be more like the US.

Not every place in the world has American or "Western" values. In the Middle East people tend to be more religious and intolerant. There is great suspicion of the "Western" world there for percieved injustices such as exploitation and perferential treatment to Israel. Foreigners of a different religion are seen by manys as invaders no matter what they are doing. Self perservation isn't as important there as in America, so people are willing to commit suicidal attacks. Everyone doesn't think like Americans, and it isn't easy to make people think like Americans, and that's not neccessarily good or bad.

We owe them their country back. Of course, that's not something we can give them, but we'll have to do the best we can and try to rebuild and achieve stability.
