Now that we have a Linux avatar, how about a BSD d(a)emon avatar?

I emailed him and said that if he was interested, I'd shrink it to an avatar-sized .gif and send it to him for approval, and if he approved he could forward it, with written approval, to Zuni for the final yes/no. Obviously there is no room for a © symbol on avatars, but we'll see what he says.
 
Yep, a BSD Daemon would be cool.

I think the problem with using either a BSD or SuSE avatar is that those logos are license property of those companies. Tux the penguin is just a generic icon for Linux in general. I don't think it's a copyrighted trademark.
 
I received a reply to my email. The owner of the BSD Daemon character doesn't give permission for its use as an avatar.
 
Oh. That sucks. :-( Well, sorry I brought it up. I'll lobby for the OpenBSD puffer fish in a week or so. 🙂
