I would definitely say rewriting my notes, and reading before/reviewing after class have been extremely useful.

don't actually try and read the full reading assignment. half your week will go by before you even get strated on your writing assignment. just skim through to find important pieces and then read in depth based on focus areas in lecture.

To be honest... I haven't studied yet. I have an english paper due in... 24 hours. I'll write it when I'm at work this afternoon.

Taking less notes and typing them.

It's almost like memorizing the whole book.

do your work as an when u get it, dont put off assignments, homework etc till the weekend, jus come home and get it out the way while the infomation is still fresh in your noggin. i mean after a 9-5 day whats another hour or 2 after youve had some food?

other than that, if you wanna revise good, then do past papers, and lots and lots of exam style questions, this helps you get a feel for the questions, and can help you have a strong guess at what will be on the paper, and make sure you understand what the hell theyre asking

re-writing notes, and reading does nothing for me. i learn best by doing. so thats what i do....off to the library for a few hours, with a couple of past exam papers.

For me re-writing notes is definitely helpful, but I do agree with your past papers comment, application is the best way to reinforce knowledge.

actually a combo of both is pretty good.

re-write notes, that way your looking at them again, and your actually writing them down, possibly simplyfied since alot of my notes have alot of un needed stuff, then with a refresh of the info in your head, tackle the past papers.

mind maps and pretty colours dont work for me either.....if its not in biro it doesnt go in lol

Do your large writing assignments (the ones you get a couple of weeks to do) as soon as you get them. Otherwise all your assignments from all your classes tend to be due within a two week period around midterms and then again at finals.

Go to class everytime, no matter how useless you think it is.
Sit in the front.
Ask questions.
"Buddy" up with the professor.
Hand write your notes.
Review your notes a few different times the week before the test.
Do not take a laptop with you to class (unless it's a programming class).
