I know the answer is no.... but it's just a thought.....

You know damn well Microsoft has a test lab with MS Office running flawlessly on linux.....

I don't know much about Mac or OSX. But since OSX has some unix roots (bsd??), is it someway feasable for someone way smarter than myself to modify the OSX version of MS office to work on linux (not using emulation)??

I would assume if this were the case, it would already have already been done.

I believe office for windows works fine with wine (not emulation). There would really be no need for the OSX version. I could be wrong though...

Most OS X apps use apple specific windowing APIs (think it's called Cocoa) because OS X doesn't use X like most unixes. If someone wrote a Cocoa implementation for Linux then maybe, but that has yet to happen.

Nothinman: It's called Aqua, but other than that, you are right. 😉

(FYI: Cocoa is an interpreted language (like Visual Basic) with development tools included in OS X. At least I think that's what it is.)

Ah well, I was close =)

If Apple would use names that actually mean something I might be able to remember which is which =)
