Lest anyone think HTC has jumped the shark (though they may have come close with their hipster troll carwash commercials featuring Robert Downey Jr.), it's real gold and a truly rare smartphone, one of which is intended for a MOBO award sponsored by HTC. I'm guessing they just went ahead and manufactured the phones just for that, and had extras in the process. And yes, it is "2,750 GBP, or roughly 4,400 USD" per phone.

I'm still waiting on my iron man edition phone. They proved they can do metallic red and now gold.

Wow is that ugly. I'm not a huge fan of gold to begin with; I have a bit of it on my watch and that's fine, but something like this is just ugly in my opinion.

P.S. One of the case companies built a solid 14k gold case as a lark, and priced it at $10000. To their surprise, a few people actually bought it.

Well hopefully someone makes clear cases for HTC One phones, because it'd be a shame to cover up your gold plated phone with a plastic case.
