While talking to some friends, I calculate a bit to see how this will benefit me.

Not with everyone. I guess some gossipy ones I get guarded about.

You just think a bit before you speak. Also it's all in the delivery to get the person on your side.

Definitely one of the signs of wisdom. Young people love to blab. Makes them feel important. Older, wiser individuals learn what to say and when. And more importantly - why.

Never give out information for free. Keep it in reserve until you find moments where disseminating will help you.

For example: I don't think people I know in real life have any idea what my political leanings are. There exists no reason to offer up information like that for nothing.

I'm certainly way more introverted now than I was at a younger age. But I'm not a loner. I can interact with people fine.
