I realize how nobody is getting a clear picture from the media. I read arguments in P&N and some seem quite silly :p

Not saying anything about how good or bad the situation is... just that coloring your opinion via what the media is saying isn't leading you to the truth.

hats off to you for doing what you're doing where you are.

I bet if you were to share some of your first hand observations, it might help to clear up some misconceptions some of us have back here.

Good luck to you and stay safe.

yes it is very different from what the media portrays. those who just base their ideals solely on what they read or watch on TV have no clue.

chowmein in forward operating location.

Yep. Same as when I was there 3 ago; no one really knows the ins and outs and what is really going except for the troops on the ground.

Are you saying the situation is better or worse than the media is portraying? It would help to have first-hand insight. Don't worry, I'm not going to question or attack what you say.

It's probably hard for anyone not actually there on the ground to understand how things really are, and even then I'm sure things are very very different depending on which part of the country you're in. That said, any such observations are anecdotal and don't mean anything regarding the overall picture.

I can watch one video from Iraq showing some grunts getting blown up and then I can watch a video showing some grunts break dancing and practicing flips on their BMX's
Each group will have a different perspective

I can't understand why a soldier in Iraq would even bother looking at posts in PnN, it can't be anything but demoralizing and you guys need all the positive thoughts you can muster

Take Care

All news is slanted with a bias.

Just keep your head down and come back safely!

I've got a  on ice for ya!
