Verizon FiOS TV

Unfortunately, it's not available yet. The installer told me that the hardware and software are all in place, but they are just waiting for all the legal crap (local franchising, etc.), which will take another year or so. :(

Anybody have this? Or is it available in other areas?

Godamn! I am considering moving just to get FIOS! Right now I am getting killed by these prices...
Comcast HSI(I only get 1.5mbps WTF)+Basic Cable (43+10)
MCI Basic (~50)
Directv (~40)
143 a month for this crap!

Thank god I am getting VOIP next month.

Personally, I don't see a huge difference between DSL and Fios, but then again... I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore so I just sit online and chat

I've had FIOS for 6 months now.

I previous had a 1.5 Mbs DSL line (768 upload) but now have 15 Mbs down / 2 Mbs up.

It has made quite a noticeable difference!

Alot of web pages simply 'flash' onto the screen as if they were stored on a SCSI RAID locally.

While it doesn't make a huge difference on single bit torrents since people out there don't typically upload much I can queue up like 15 torrents each at the speed my DSL would have been able to do with only one. I ran out of things to download though... Oh and my hard drive space is pwned

Quite noticeable difference in gaming too. In BF2 I now usually get pings of 5 in the servers I used to get in the 20's. Now I can shoot at a guy and my bullets will actually go where I pointed my mouse at! So I'm having more fun there

But anyway, I REALLY want FIOS TV now.

Does anyone have ANY clue of when it might be available in lower NY ?
