Now that I have 2 WU, what is next?

I have 2 WU done, and also I set up my others 2 pcs, so I have my PIII, a Celery 650 and a Celery 633 running Seti. But I need more help, what is the next step? 😉

First, have you made sure to join Team Anandtech on the main SETI site?

Second, what other computers can you get set up and running for yourself and for the Team? 😀 (nice group you've got started there, by the way!) 🙂

Good morning, I know that I'm in the TA because I can see my stats, so far is #601. Those are the only pcs that I can get to run SETI for now, and I'm running 3.03, and with the screen in blank.
Those pcs has a minimum of 128 RAM and plenty of space in the HDD (my PIII has 70 gigs space) and I connect thru ADSL.
How do I flush those WU that are done, or it will done auto by the program?
Thanks again for the warm welcome to the team (someone can verify for me that I'm in the team?)🙂

Eltano1: Welcome to the TeAm!! 🙂😀

How the WUs get uploaded depends on how you are running the client. Do you use the gui or cli? If the cli, do you control it with SetiDriver or SetiQ?

You have 3 WUs to your credit on the TeAm listing, so maybe all is work!

I have no idea how is running (sorry for my ignorance), I downloaded the software from the TA page and I know is version 3.03. 😉

Is it the graphic client where you have a choice to set it as a screensaver, have the ability to see graphics, and have a green radio telescope for the program in your system tray? This would be the Graphical User Interface (GUI) client. Or is it just a text screen? This would be the Command Line Interface (CLI) client. The CLI is faster so you may want to learn to use it.

I have the green telescope in my taskbar, but I don't have any other choice (between GUI or CLI), there is no way for me to change that, I look in preferences and I can't find it. 🙁

It's a whole different program you have to download. When you go to setiathome.berkeley.edu and go to the download page, click on the last link for "command-line version." Download this one "i386-winnt-cmdline.exe" and run it instead. After you get it running you will want to uninstall Seti@home thru the control panel so the GUI version no longer comes up at startup.

No, the CLI is a separate program you download..it does the same work but runs in a MS-DOS box, and is faster. It's best to run the CLI with SETIDriver, because SETIDriver will cache work units for you, and manage the CLI.

You can get SETIDriver here.

The SETIDriver page has information on how to install SETIDriver and the CLI.

Once SETI has completed the WU ,SETIDriver depending on weather you have set it to autotransmit or not will either hold onto the results until you tell it to transmit or it will just send them off 🙂
