Now that gays are getting married how has your life been affected?

I'm really curious with all the hoopla I have heard about gay marriage how it has affected your heterosexual marriage/life? I know Bush said we need to protect the sanctity of marriage, insinuating that allowing gay marriage would somehow affect heterosexuals. Here is your chance to share the effects. Do you love your wife/husband less now? Do you feel your marriage isn't as real anymore now that some homosexuals have one too? Did your kids tell you they want to be gay when they grow up because it is the cool thing to do? Jeez, if we are going to try to add an amendment to the Constitution banning gay marriage there better be some good stories here.

I can't sleep at night, as I'm always wondering if the same people who attacked Judge Roy Moore for flouting the law are going to attack Mayor Gavin Newsom for doing likewise. Not that I don't think a little civil disobedience isn't warranted at times, but I'd just like to see some consistency here.

the roy moore Issue does somewhat imply but the the constitution states separation from church and state.

The Gay issue is a "Seperate but equal" argument.

The Mayor should be arrested for breaking california Law, but these 2 issues are slightly different in their constitutional makeup.

Their civil unions are fine, keep the marriage for a man and a girl. It's not natural for two same sex people to get married. Marriage is a religious event. Also it should be reserved for people that can keep society growing. Not to mention if you allow gays to get married it will encourage more sexual confusion for kids. My kid, if I had one, does not need to see two guys walking down the street holding hands, frolicking around with their shaved chests, giggling and hugging. It goes against nature?s course.

Second note, that thing with Judge Roy Moore. Let the Commandments stay in the court room. I'm there a lot and if the convicts, if they choose to, on THEIR own to read them it would probably do some good. Don't you want the cons to see why they?re there? Thou shall not kill, Thou shall not steal. No one is forcing you to read the 10 Commandments. Why would you take them down anyway? Do they offend you? That?s what the ACLU says, they offend people. What can possibly offend you about the Commandments, but than again the ACLU is defending NAMBLA (which stands for North American Man Boy Love Association). C'mon, what is going on with society? If we chase god out of this country the people that believe in him will leave soon after.

Oh yeah, I drive an SUV and it LOVES Iraqi oil.

The Story of sodomon and Gomorrah comes to mind. People interpret this story as "Dont live in sin or i will destroy the city"

I see it differently. In these citys of Sin that god destroyed, were a family of people that god viewed as good. They Were not guilty by association for the actions that went on within their city. God did not Punish them for the actions of their neighbors.

And god wont punish me for living next to a married gay couple, Thats something between them and god, Not Me, god, and Them.

The California law is also suspect. It promotes the seperate but equal which is determined to be unconstitutional.
SF is actively challenging that aspect of the law in court.

Really?? Your state's statutes are based upon the Ten Commandments?

So, if a criminal is convicted of burglarly, murder, etc. he's charged with breaking a commandment, not a statute?

Interesting....

I can't sleep at night knowing that the marriages could result in less adultery, less promiscuity, committed couples, and stable happy homes. Only if 'marriage' were some 'Make Babies Agreement/Permit' would I be against it.

Edit: And if my future child were to see two men holding hands, I'd without hesitation tell him/her that they're in love. They may think its unusual but hell, kids think heterosexual love is strange too until they hit their preteens.

I'm sorry, I never at any point, stated that my state's statutes are based on the Commandments. Both your questions are answered with a no. If he?s convicted with burglary he?s charged with burglary. I simply just said, as you quoted me, it would probably do some good if they read them. Also as far as the ?thou shill not kill" or "thou shill not steal" go, I'm just stating that those are principles that every man from every faith can embrace. I?m sorry you interpreted that what.

Well, you're the one who said: "Don't you want the cons to see why they?re there?" That would lead one to believe that criminals are tried and convicted of breaking the Ten Commandments.

And, btw, not every religion follows the Ten Commandments. And not every person is religious.

If you're going to put one religion's credo on the wall, you'll need to put them all. Otherwise, it's tantamount to "establishing a religion".

heh, oh man, not this "It's not natural" reasoning again. Tell that too the animals who do the same (yes, belive it or not, there are gay animals aswell). Or are you going to claim animals are un-natural by doing this? Now remember, homosexuality is nothing new. It's been going on as far back as mankind can remember.

Now, about the ACLU defending NAMBLA. Now keep in mind that the ACLU defends EVERYONES constitutional rights. Yeah, amazing isn't it? even assholes have rights. If the ACLU starts getting selective about defending people, just because that persons/groups view is fuvked up, then the ACLU as a whole becomes useless as a groups, since their function is to defend EVERYONES constitutional right. We may not like them defending assholes. But if that's what they have to do to guarantee our constitutional right, so be it.

Now, should gays be allowed to marry? Sure, why not. They can't make any more mess of that institution than straight people have.

Also, those of you out there who think you or your kids will turn gay from gay people who are around you/them. Trust me, that wont happen. You either are gay or you're not. You dont suddenly turn into one :p

P.S: That last sentance shouldn't have to be there. But trust me, there are actuly people who think this will/could happen. Poor people and their paranoia/homophobia.

You cant really expect anyone to believe a "gay" marriage will result in less adultery, less promiscuity, committed couples, and stable happy homes. The gay community is absolutely notorious for its open relationships, threesomes, foursomes, bathhouses etc.

Happy homes?

Look homosexuality is an abomination before God, don't expect me to embrace this any quicker than I would embrace child porn, pedophiles, sex with animals, etc. ITS ALL SICK VERY SICK.

ITS NOT NORMAL PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you nor anyone else will EVER confvince me otherwise.
Try as you might to ingnore it there is such a thing as right and wrong.

Heterosexuals engage in orgies, are the bulk of all pornography/adult material, abuse immigration laws, are the basis of almost all domestic violence, and abuse children.

Homosexuality being wrong is just your opinion. And like the age old saying goes "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one".

Well thats a well thought out response.........

Hey moderator I thought the forum rules said personal attacks are not tolerated?

Anyway still doesnt change a thing does it........

Heterosexuals engage in orgies, are the bulk of all pornography/adult material, abuse immigration laws, are the basis of almost all domestic violence, and abuse children.

Orgies are a sin too, so that is to be discouraged also.

Pornography is also a sin and should be stopped to the largest degree possible.

Domestic violence is terrible and should be fought against.

Child abuse is unacceptable.

Since when does 5 wrongs make a right?

I wasn't even going to reply to this nitwit. It's obvious he has no real intelligence. Just coming in here trolling with flamebait.
