Is anybody playing MP, it's pretty fun ,rank 8 . The UI is lame and from what I hear Ubi is very bad at fixing things. I got as far as finishing the tutorial in SP and put it down for MP...

I'm rubberbunny on mp (Ubisoft messed up again by forcing you to use your Ubisoft account as your game name). Rank 9 right now. I got the USAS12 and the Saboteur scoped assault rifle (forget its name). I tested out the awp last night in player matches, and it's ridiculously overpowered on large maps, so I'm slowly working towards that now.

Yeah I think the call the saboteur's primary the dart gun and it is awesome!!! I cant get used to the awp so I downgraded rank to switch to the mp5 which I find dissapointing. I'd really like to try the AR15 , is it any good ?

And yes they messed up the naming system. I'm usually AKWolf on gamespy but had to go with AKWolverine on Ubis' system...

lol, 2 funny things just happened. I was at the station with the sniper i mentioned above. i got close enough to where he couldn't see me but i could barely see him and shot him with small bursts from my mp5 and killed him. anyway, that alerted the guards and also a jeep patrol. 3-4 guys are running across the bridge to come get me when the jeep patrol just plows right over top of them, killing them all, lol!

was attacking another guard station and i killed a few with my silenced mak. they were looking for me and a few were throwing grenades (1st time i saw them do that). this one guy was running in my direction when another guy throws a grenade that lands right in front of the 1st guy and blow him up!

anyone else find that shotguns are alomost worthless in this game? The only time I've ever used them was when I ran out of ammo for my primary and they were the only weapons on the ground.

Ooh, i just thought of something that would be really fun to add to this game - the ability to pick up and move objects, especially explosive barrels and propane tanks. or even like logs or rocks, so you could build a barricade for yourself or even put it across roads so the enemy would have to get out of the vehicle and move it to continue on. Although I guess it wouldn't really be all that much help except for the "destroy the convoy" missions or the jeep patrols.

have you guys seen ammo caches blow up yet? those are cool.

I've also noticed that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that you can destroy. I thought the game says you can destroy just about anything? you can't even blow up the stupid shacks.

Yeah, WTF is up with the shotguns , I mean cmon even shooting from the hip at 5 or ten yards should bring down any Tshirt clad native but not here. Perhaps it's just me but even sighted bring similar results, crap...

The dieing animations are to slow and I always seem to put more rounds into a target than needed...

They did a great job designing the world and atmosphere. It really feels like your in a war torn 3rd world country in Africa. Right down to the run down shacks, militia with AKs walking around the street, and beautiful savanah.

They're pretty decent up close (1-2 shots will kill depending on where you hit), but good luck getting up close to an enemy for it to be effective.

The USAS12 (my most used gun) is the indisputable champion at close range but you have to use your sights unless you're touching the guy with the tip of your gun. It's not that hard sneaking up on people in mp, so I can rack up kills with it. The pump action and SPAS12 aren't that great since they're so slow. They're all one body shot kills if you hit directly though.

The AR16 is in between the assault rifles and sniper rifles in range, and I use it on the larger maps. It's an assault rifle with a scope. Though I'll probably switch over to the awp on large maps once I unlock that, it can't quite outsnipe snipers.

In case anyone cares.

You can also use the R button to zoom out to a larger map during the game.

The AI has it's quarks, but realistically, what do you expect? The checkpoints are scripted, but in any game, when is the AI not scripted? When the day actually comes that they make AI that can think for itself (in a 50 dollar game at least) is the day machines will take over the world and we all get plugged into the matrix.

Hah yea, I should have said what the link was for, woops. Anyhow, I'm planning to do the same for Act 2. Already got 2/9 areas done.

I think the reason people here seem to dislike it is because it's being compared to Crysis. They're really different games - I'd say FC2 is more akin to STALKER. Crysis restricted the player a lot and kept you on a relatively linear path, albeit with different ways to approach. In FC2, you can go anywhere on the map and there's not too much direction given to you. As for those complaining about driving everywhere - the buses will take you close to your destination and there's always a car at the bus stops that you can use. There are cars everywhere - just imagine if you had to walk everywhere like in STALKER. And I like the fact that crappy weapons jam - it gives you incentive to buy your own. I also like the buddies that your character has - being rescued by a buddy and continuing in the fight is so much better than "reload last save" every time - it makes Hardcore a lot more fun.

It's also cool how every battle can become quite epic very quickly. I just took one of those "Destroy the convoy" missions. As soon as I blew up the truck with an RPG, enemies just came from everywhere. I died, got rescued by my buddy, and we fought off 3 or 4 cars worth of guys. Really fun to see the aftermath of the battle.

Comparing STALKER to FC2, I would give STALKER the win in almost every category short of 3d engine performance (although the dynamic lightning was badass). And then you have to realize STALKER was done by a small foreign developer going up against ubisoft.

wow, you had more people join than what was in the convoy? i remember one convoy mission i go there was a guard station at this crossroad area. on 1 side of the road, there was a this rocky area where you could climb up and hide. i hid up there and waited for the convoy. tried to shoot the transport truck but missed. the last jeep in the convoy came after me so i blew it up with the RPG. the transport and the lead jeep just kep going. waited for them to come around again and this time i got the transport but the lead jeep just kept going, lol.

there are some areas that are completely infested with enemy. the one area where there is a big lake with some buildigns around it, forget what it is called. that was bad...

another area i found was up a mountain path. it didn't seem to lead to anything but it was infested with enemies. found some cool rock cliff areas where you got some beautiful views though.

Yeah, I attacked the convoy just up on the side of a hill, with a guard post below. I don't even know where all the enemies came from. I think they sneaked around the side and flanked us while we were fighting the convoy. The AI does cheat (and it's really annoying when they shoot you while facing the other way), but it's fairly intelligent in its combat strategies too.

haha, i was out in the savannah and i found a herd of zebras. i stopped to watch them and they would come up to my jeep. all of a sudden some of them started to butt my jeep with their heads. then this one ran straight at my jeep, hit it, and died, lol.

Anyone else think the game would be better if the APR guys weren't hostile to you, just UFLL? You are on the APR side after all. I know the guy at APR HQ says that no one knows you so that's why everyone is an enemy, but it's annoying not being able to take 3 steps without being attacked by someone. It would be much cooler if there were both APR and UFLL NPCs on the map and they attacked each other on site, but APR was friendly to you. Even cooler if you could pick your side. Here's hoping someone makes a mod like this.

Yeah, I went off in the other thread about the FOV making me sick.

-I don't like how the enemy patrols are implemented. Either they start shooting you when they're right up your ass or they see you from a few hundred yards out, reverse and speed towards you.
-Stealth killing someone with a machete = not quiet at all. Guys will still notice it and mob rush you.
-Crysis syndrome. Takes a dozen shots to drop someone.
-Crysis syndrome 2: you can aim at someones back, and they react as if they saw you. Same applies to nades, as soon as you let go, they're running in all directions. Must be that spider sense.
-Not enough bus stations or ammo warehouses.

How do you guys adjust the watch when you're at a safehouse? Speaking of the safehouse, I thought your allies are supposed to be in them. Wtf!

plenty of ammo around and i rarely use the safehouses.

you used the a and d keys to adjust the watch

Is there any point to doing this other then change from day to night? Does your character need rest?

They get scared of you. Some enemies run away, or get very defensive. You can hear their chatter "It can't be just one guy", "It's him, run!". Likely means just less guys get spawned in that area if they're too chicken. If your reputation grows to high, the people that give you medicine will deny you help because you're a psycho killer.

so you started out with the apr missions? i started out with the ufll missions. must be determined by character or maybe it's just random?
