Yeah, I went off in the other thread about the FOV making me sick.

-I don't like how the enemy patrols are implemented. Either they start shooting you when they're right up your ass or they see you from a few hundred yards out, reverse and speed towards you.
-Stealth killing someone with a machete = not quiet at all. Guys will still notice it and mob rush you.
-Crysis syndrome. Takes a dozen shots to drop someone.
-Crysis syndrome 2: you can aim at someones back, and they react as if they saw you. Same applies to nades, as soon as you let go, they're running in all directions. Must be that spider sense.
-Not enough bus stations or ammo warehouses.

How do you guys adjust the watch when you're at a safehouse? Speaking of the safehouse, I thought your allies are supposed to be in them. Wtf!

I honestly don't like FC2 too much. Feels like a Africa version of GTA4 in FPS mode.

Ponti, ah, about the ammo, its just the guns and missions I want lol. Kind of sucks picking up a new weapon only to have it continually jam after one reload.
Thanks for the watch tip.

i've seen lots of animals - zebras, wildebeasts, gazelles, birds. they aren't everywhere, mostly in the savannah areas.

i was wanting a flashlight or night vision last night, but with the super sight of the enemies, going at night wouldn't help anyway.

i think the patrols are scripted, because I always see them in the same areas, along the same path. never seen any on foot. i think maybe the guys the cars (not jeeps) are not scripted but i can't tell.

I'm disliking how 99.9% of everyone you meet is hostile. Can't there be any neutral guys out there?

At first I thought it was awkward how I couldn't tell friendlies from hostiles. But then I realized... there aren't any friendlies, lol

Buy weapons from the weapons salesman, and they don't jam until you've used them for quite a while. This facet of the game is actual an interesting RPG element they added IMO. It makes you decide between going after the money missions with used and unreliable weapons or doing the weapons unlocking missions. So far, I've opted to do the weapons missions simply because: a) you always need good equipment b) I won't care about unlocking weapons after I've finished the main mission. I have more weapons unlocked now than I have diamonds to buy them with.

You can buy camo gear that helps with the auto aiming enemy.
The AI cheats, and cheats lots.
I have caught several enemy spawning in place on the fort mission.
I ran towards the entrance and then turned quickly around and saw two soldiers fade into the game and start shooting.
My main gripe remains having to drive everywhere.

If you haven't yet , check out the map editor, it is incredibly easy to use.
You just drag and drop your map layouts along with creating terrain then instantly play it in the same window.

I use the GPS and went everywhere, a few spots the light did turn solid but there was nothing around. Wow I suck lol.

When the light turns solid, walk in whichever direction you are facing. You'll find the case with the diamond in it.

The case is inside one of the two sheds you are near, on a table in the back left corner.

Yes I found it, but it was nowhere near where the light was turning solid for me, I mean it was solid when I found the right spot, but unless there are Diamonds on top of the barn or something, it was telling me to look somewhere where that was nothing lol.

Playing the game now, I like it more that Crysis, don't care the graphics aren't as good, I just like the feel of it better. Also I love knowing I won't have to be fighting any faggoty Aliens. Crysis would have been so much better to me if it was just Korean Soldiers.

The light turns solid to tell you to walk that way..
it doesnt mean that its right where it turns solid.
spin around till you get a solid light then walk there... if its flashing it means you are not facing the case.

its a very simple direction finder not a pinpoint of the location.

It blinks faster when you get closer to the case, and the light goes solid when you are facing the case regardless of how close you are to it. So, when the light goes solid, you walk in the direction you are facing until you find it. If the light starts blinking again, either you have slightly shifted your heading or you have passed the case.

I have a few things about the game that have started to annoy me the more I play it:

- As many have already mentioned, you have to keep clearing out the same bases over and over again. The enemies seem infinite, and this gives the game the feeling that I'm just not progressing much.

- The "magic button" that makes it so I have scouted a checkpoint. First of all, I can have cleared out every enemy there, but until I find the item that has to be touched I don't get credit for having scouted it. Second, what is the benefit of scouting when the next time I roll through it's just going to be re-stocked with equally hostile enemies? Scouting the checkpoints is equally as pointless as unlocking the safe houses on the PC.

- The driving and constant ambushes. The fact that you have to drive everywhere because the world is so big and mostly empty, save a few trees, is not made any more enjoyable by the fact that every time you drive 10 yards some guy in a Pinto wants to play Twisted Metal.

- The mounted guns. Isn't there some rule in FPS games that states that all mounted weapons only have a 180 degree radius and overheat quickly, but in exchange you get unlimited high power ammo? FC2 seems to want to re-write the rule so the mounted guns turn 360 degrees, overheat, have unlimited ammo, but cannot kill anything unless it's 5' in front of you. Actually, it isn't just the mounted guns. The damage modeling basically needs to be re-done for almost everything including the player.

I understand it's not a pinpoint finder, but on the barn where it was solid I went to the other side of the wall and was in the same spot and it was now blinking. It seems a bit sensitive or touchy or something because there are a few spots where I had this happen. I finally started to explore and stumbled upon them. Took me a minute to adjust to.

No guns do squat for damage unless you're aiming down the sites.(even if youre aiming dead on the target)
Which is just "odd" to say the least.

I've started traveling more by boat going from mission to mission, i can traverse the map a lot quicker while still looking fore diamonds.
Its not as quick as the bus stops of course, but at least i still have a chance to recover diamonds along the way.

What i wanna know is how many fookin' missions do i gotta do b4 the story picks back up, it seems ive been doing a lot of killing and getting nowhere.

And yeah i agree with the scouting, its a pain in a**!

I bought this game strictly on the name. I loved the original. This POS is not anything like it. I am so disappointed on several levels. The PC gaming industry has gone to hell. Is this the beginning of the end of PC gaming? I don't enjoy new games at all.

I think that FC2 isn't without its very annoying mishaps, but I still firmly believe that the pros outweigh the cons. In fact FC2 is currently going through the exact same love/hate relationship phase in the public that Shadow of Chernobyl (more so than Clear Sky) went through during the first five months or so of its life, until the community started to pour out modifications for it. And judging by the multi-player's editor if Ubisoft can make a full SDK for FC2 I wouldn't imagine the possibilities for great conversions in the future.

Ubisoft banked on the FarCry name. Definitely the game is nothing like far cry. The game sucks and it doesn't even look that great for how it performs. Unpolished wanna be GTA. At least we get the real GTA4 this november. :)

ok, snipers are driving me nuts - good thing there aren't too many of them. i come to this bridge with a station on the other side. it's during sunset so it's starting to get darker. i know there is a sniper on the other side because i went through here before. i exit my jeep a bit before the bridge so they can't see me. i move up closer in the grass and use my monocular to try to find the sniper. I'm scanning a bit and I see this tree with a Y in it. right in the split of the Y i see the sniper's head. as soon as I see him, he somehow sees me and starts to shoot at me.
