Is it me, or have memory prices gone UP and UP the last year.

Yes, I've been in the dark, but they are way up...it seems that the RAM prices are just as high if not higher than the CPU for 1 GIG of good ram.

What gives>?

Prices should go down over the summer though right/?

thanks

Well good qaulity ram are about the same probably a little bit more expensive where I live, a DDR 2700 stick costs more than a DDR 3200 so yeah I suppose it has gone up a little exept the really really expensive Ram, which has remained about the same.

Last time I upgraded 1.5 years ago, RAM was 1/2 the cost of the mid-range CPU, now it's about equal.

Been out of the loop two long.

Wow.

Yes, RAM prices have been rising.

SAME RAM I bought in december for $112 is now over $150 at the same store (newegg ... Mushkin Level 1 PC3500 2-3-3 2x256MB)

The low latency RAM seems to be climbing faster than anything else. 'normal' RAM seems to have had less dramatic increases in price.

Always upgrade in fall/winter. That's when mem prices are cheap historically.

August/SEPT there is to be some CPU releases Xeon64 and AMD 9 micron so it should be worth waiting a little longer on the CPU level as well.
