Now mods are locking OT threads that ask about locks??? What gives?

OK, in this thread I shared my (polited state) concerns about a seeming inconsistency between the official Hot Deals forum rules and the actual behaviour of the moderators charged with enforcing those rules.

I posted this comment to "Off Topic" as I thought I was specifically allowed (and specifically directed!) to do by the moderator himself in this thread:

<< you want to discuss religion, it happens all the time in the Off Topic forum. When those discussions get too rude, we lock them there, too. >>

Err, givent aht my thread was locked, without comment, how am I supposed to interpret this? It clearly is not "off topic," after all I am POSTING to "off topic" & it was explicitly staaated by the mod that this kind of post belongs here! Was I "rude?" How so? How about telling me what I have done wrong, so I may reform, rather than the continued capricious censorship.

As I said in the last post, censorship alone is bad enough, but censoring/shutting dwona discussion when it seems to be totally within bounds of the rules and in fact EXPLICITLY WELCOMED in previous correspondence by the censor is much worse.

That is my opinon, I am sorry if you are so annoyed by my expression of it -- but please, if you are not going to allow me to express it here, TELL ME WHY I CAN'T, WHAT I AM DOING WRONG, don't just silently censor it! Don't you want your community members to understand your policies?
