The janitor has to get something to tie the flag to the pole.

I ordered one and had it flown on my wedding date (Aug 6th)

The Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 1966 (P.L. 104-53), set a fee of $4.05 to cover the handling cost for each U. S. flag flown over the Capitol. The Senate Rules Committee has determined each Senator's office may also collect a $4.00 postage fee for each flag mailed to the constituent.

If you would like the flag flown over
the Capitol, please add the flying fee ($4.05/flag).

Make sure you send your request in 6 weeks before you want the flag flown. I sent mine in about 3 months before our wedding so it should be fine.
