Awesome. When he drops back down to ~100, it seems like he's crawling :D

It's not fake.. We've gone over this before.. The speedometers aren't 100% accurate at that speed.. He's most likely not really doing 220, but he's going damn fast, that's for sure...

Yeah, it is a repost... but I lost the video and have been looking for it for a while :) hehe

Oh, and it is slightly faked. He changed the gear ratios from stock to something shorter. Had the speedo fixed to compensate, but also had a switch to change the speedo back to reading the old speeds. He's really going ~198 mph at his fastest IIRC. If you believed that speedo and tach, he'd have hit 242 mph.

When I searched current & archives for suzuki or hayabusa I saw a different video. It seems like 75% of the threads in OT are nabbed by the repost police anyhow. :)

That doesn't look right...

he's doing a "wheely" at 140 MPH???

It can be done... don't forget, this is 160hp (turbo'd) on a mo-to-cy-cle.
Also, don't they top out at just around 200mph, I thought newer models were limited to ~195-199mph even?

Yup, pretty much.

The video is still exciting, nonetheless.. I love how the engine winds up, and how it sounds when he shifts...

I think the '98 hayabusas got up to ~198 mph or so, and since then they've been limited to 181 I think. Hayabusarider knows for sure though.

Does anyone have a link to other video where the dudes doing 200MPH. It had a LCD showing the speed instead of the tachometer.

Yep :D The L forums over there are a pretty cool place to hang out at. Unfortunately I don't own a L though :(

That bike has probably had the sprockets replaced with aftermarket ones with different number of teeth than stock to make it accelerate like that.

I'm pretty sure stock Busas topped out at approx 193 or so but with a few mods it can definitely get faster.

The thing with Suzukis (my TL1000R also) is that speed readings aren't taken from the front wheel like on some bikes - they're taken from a driveshaft I believe and are notoriously off - ESPECIALLY with a sprocket change.

Truth be told, bike speedos are typically 10-15 percent optomistic as stock and the error only gets worse with increasing speeds. Combine this with a sprocket swap and it gets way off.

See my post a little ways up :)

Sprockets were changed, speedo was corrected, but switch installed to change speedo back to old settings -> super fast readings.
