i took my 2 kids to see the lorax in 3d, cost about 50 bucks.

but i only take them to movies maybe 3 times a year so i dont mind too much

I wouldn't mind paying good money to go watch a movie as long as people don't bring their kids along, or text during the whole movie. The Arc Light theater in Manhattan Beach is pretty nice. I think they have a sign outside that says "no children or asshats allowed."

It's already there for me. $25 for my wife and I to go. I would just rather own it on BR or something for that price.

Thats why I love that fact that my wife runs the theater here in town. I havent paid to see a movie in over 7 years.

I love going to the movies, but I always do the following which goes FAR:

1. Buy and use AMC silver tickets. $5-6 per ticket instead of $10-13.
2. ALWAYS sneak in snack from outside. I've never had anyone check it. Just hide it in GF's purse. I've even brought it in plastic bag in plain sight. The kiddies don't care.

Just browse Fandango, and add all new releases that interest you to your Netflix queue. Watch all of the movies when they come out on blu-ray.

Hollywood has been making the same ADD Blockbuster movies for more than a decade. They use the same soundtrack and special effects to cover up for the lack of dialog and plot. Without computers these movies would look pretty sad.
