We all know that you can't get 1t memory timings when you overclock any of the ASUS A8N-SLI boards, but I just returned my board to the stock CPU configuration and I still am getting BSODs and program crashes when I manually set my DRAM to 1t. And yes, the board auto detects my RAM modules at 2t, so I have to manually set it.
As per my sig, I'm running the Corsair TWINX1024-4400C25 modules.
I'm currently running BIOS revision 1011. I've tried the 1012 BIOS and it knocked my framerates in Battlefield 2 down to 15 FPS with a single card enabled so that's out. I also have tried the latest beta BIOS version (1013.04) and I had the same problem.
These are my manual memory settings which are at or below the stock Corsair spec:
Memclock: DDR400 (i.e., less than the rated speed)
Timing: 2.5-4-4-8/1t
DDR voltage: 2.75v
Increasing the DDR voltage up to as high as 2.85 didn't help. Setting the DDR voltage to Auto didn't help.
Should I raise the Memclock higher than 4400? That seems counter-intuitive.
Oh, and there's nothing wrong with my modules, I ran memtest all night last night at those settings and didn't get a single error. It's only when I'm in Windows that I'm crashing.
Is anybody running a similiar setup on any ASUS A8N-SLI series board and getting to 1t at any processor speed?
Anyone?
