just my opinion...people have a messed up belief on Japanese women. If people replaced the things they said with the more popular ethnic backgrounds here there would be 'Mod Guilotine' played.

I have met screwed up chicks, color/race not an exception. However, to say all Japanese women are just fuxored is a bit different than saying I hate GT3.

That Vladgur guy is just begging for one grouping all black women into a not desired crowd after I mentioned the fact that saying it about that culture would get a ban. I have had a few 'black' women I wanted to be with, I failed mostly on them bringing up 'you just want to be with one'. To me that's sad to believe. I will pummel the idiot, but it's never going to be or not to be because he is in a group/culture/race/etc...

If you know women you know *all* women can be good and bad, and they can all be put into certain buckets. Yet, if you a basing that on their birth place, color of their skin, or anywhere where they come from....you are simply pushing the whole world war forward.

probably my first venting on FI...normally I think it's nanny area...however; I would say things that could get me banned again. A joke is one thing, labelled a race/culture is a whole other.

I am not saying we can't have someone racist in the world, definitely I am not one to pick what's important or not to any one person, but here time-outs are quick and heavy and to say all Japanese women are a freaking big eyed, love me long time, I clean you house, o'chai hai hai, ippai ippai, thing is f'd. I have dated many asian women, only lived with americans though except my current japanese wife. I will say they are not any different except in race.

me too and my wife read these remarks and is pretty pissed. She in older, works for a '20 something' clothing company now...she deals with 'baka baka gaijins' daily, I have to sort it out.

her quote is 'I am a respectible Japanese woman, how can these gaijin say this to me'.

I was surprised that the thread got locked, so I thought I'd come here to see if anyone bitched... I guess someone did.

There was no harm intended. My first post said it all. I was at lunch with two mid-20s co-workers (one Japanese), and the subject came up. I couldn't come up with an answer to satisfy the question, but I told them I was sure I that knew a forum that would have an opinion... and it appears I was correct.

I did warn them that they might not like the frankness or juvenile nature of some of the answers, but that I?m sure the thread would reveal what's in guy's heads... and I guess it did. Several people did mention (in the thread) the appeal of having someone to defend, and here we have a man coming to the defense of his Japanese wife to have a thread locked! 😀

I found certain postings to be offensive, but not the overall thread. It is ATOT, and it was what I expected. I'm surprised that alkemyst's wife would delve into a thread about the perception of Japanese women on ATOT without having similar expectations.

No harm was intended.

Just finished going through the complete thread.

Majority of the thread was proper.

Some posts became fairly offsensive and vulgar. Those were uncalled for and could be the reason for the lock.

Rump...your original email and most of them I had no problem with.

But there is a difference in someone saying I don't find 'black' 'white' etc girls attractive (which I still don't see as a non-racist remark, as there is so much variety in a 'color'...but that is not the point).

It's when they say 'black' or 'white' or etc have no place, are all worthless, are all ugly, etc. That's racist and pretty offensive if you ask me, speaking as one that's been put on vacation for simply calling someone a retard.

Those attempting to push that further (more than likely playing a belief, than abiding by it), were going way down hill.

Being offensive is understandable, promoting racist based diatribes and remarks I think is way beyond the limit of what OT is going to encompass. Promoting myths that affect real people badly again is something I thought was forbidden here.

I am hardly one to go cry to mods...hell I take my bans/vacations without bishing much at all, but this was a topic that seemed to go way out of control and there was a very uneven slant to it (all downhill for asian people, mostly Japanese)....if it was balanced and if it had weighted comments rather than mudslings, I think I wouldn't have had a problem at all.
