Pricegrabber has low price $559 from perhaps shady retailer.

OK, Microcenter strikes again. They claim the price was "typo". And the AT effect has overwhelmed the page. Microcenter started off their website commerce with the same thing, except there were 2 cameras with very low prices. They hung their hats on the text in the item description that said "limited quantities, may not be in stock when you order".

This time they said ships in 1-3 days. So I hope they ship the orders that did get placed before the change. I waited too long to order since I received an Olympus 2100 today from CrapUSA that was on special for $449.95.

If you get your cameras, you are welcome, and thanks for not dinging me on mis-spelling Olympus in the topic.

EDIT: Now Microcenter seems to have disabled the 20% off coupon!! I guess they want to make you CALL in to order a digital camera so they can figure out how much to charge you. If you got nothing else to do, start calling, see what today's prices are.

I'd place your order on the phone I just went through the website and the %20 coupon didn't work! it said it was until I committed my order and it charged me full price! Ack called CSR and she said to call back in a couple hours so see could see the order.

Started having problems when I started messing w/ the shipping...

So watch out 😛

I agree with Exman. I placed my order online and the final screen does not show the 20% discount. Try calling your order in for better results!
 
i guess this 'deal' is dead. i called after it showed full price when I placed the order. The lady told me the $559.20 is after 20% already. Something is messed up with the website. I had my order cancelled.
 
Just spent 15min talking to the supervisior and he did nothing for me!

said was a pricing error and they were working on it now.

I also was told you could use only 1 %20 coupon per address! Isn't the reason to have a sale to get people into your store wether it was on online or a B&M store. SH!T even Worst buy gave me $30 coupon for their GF 4 fiasco!

this online store is SH!T.... idiots!

I called the online store and they are oos on the Olympus 4040.
I called a local micro center and they had them in but told me the price listed online ($559.20) was AFTER the 20% discount.

i too had the price of $450.. changed to $560 on check out. luckily i used a virtual account number, so i closed the number down instantly.. and called to cancel the order. didn't bother trying to ask to apply the 20% off code tho.. i think i would have gotten it.. but i already killed the CC number.

Deal is dead, the price is now up to $700. I had it in my cart all morning with the coupon applied, and it mysteriously disappeared when I tried to check out just now. Good luck to those who got in on this!
 
I had an Olympus E-10 in my cart for $909 and couldn't decide whether to go thru with it and the next thing you know they upped their original price a coupla hundred. The good stuff is either unavailable or they are correcting the price so when you apply the 20% off it's the same as their original price. Chuh.

All I'm saying is that they offered to sell me it for full price i.e. they had them for sale (but only @559) I do hope you get it I just doubt it will be right on your card. kinda sneaky bumping to full price after you give them your CC number! Microcenter CS=Lames
 
I checked with FedEx and my camera should be here today. Also, I have received two confirmations from Microcenter for the $447 price. If they charge my credit card any more I will challenge the charges with my credit card company.

see, this is why i like virtual account numbers w/ credit limits 😉 Altho, MC didn't accept the one i had w/ limits.. so i had to go w/ a regular one.
 
I don't know what you guys are crying over... $565 shipped is still a pretty decent deal. This camera retails for $699! Check Pricegrabber or Cnet Shopper and you find very few *reputable* sites offering the 4040 for less than $565 shipped. Besides, if you find the camera is defective (ie dead pixels, a common defect in this camera) you could take it back to the B&M store. Obviously that only applies to those who live near one, but an advantage for some nonetheless. If anyone finds a better *shipped* price from a *reputable* company, I'd like to see it.

Shaduup newbie. You do the Math... it was affordable then it wasn't to many. and their CSRs handled the situation very poorly. they gave 3 different answers to why you cannot get it for that 447 price. that is being a Liar in my book. and after all that effort they say sorry we cannot help you. Take care of your customers and they will take care of you. Personally I do not think I will deal with this online store again unless they have another Loss Leader at a silly price.
